And now, meet the sirens:
Lisa Stock is a filmmaker, writer, actress and producer working in the mythic arts. She pulls her stories from a varied background in theater, film, and anthropology, with five plays produced in New York City, several years work at the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Her films have played in Cannes, London, New York, New Orleans and Japan. Her work delves deep into our human nature, our “personal mythologies” - what we embrace and allow to happen - choices that lift us out of the darkness and those that might not sit well with our conscience. Her stories bring those inner tendencies to life visually through tales incorporating myth and fairy tale – everything from the Odyssey to Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Deborah J. Brannon is a writer, reviewer, and blogger whose work has appeared or is forthcoming in Faerie Magazine, The Pedestal Magazine, and Stone Telling, among others. Her writing has appeared on the blogs for Cabinet des Fées and the Interstitial Arts Foundation. Currently studying for her Masters in Victorian literature, she spends the rest of her time obsessed with the mythic arts and the finest geekiness the world has to offer. Her most fundamental understanding is that stories are how we communicate and relate to the world around us; given her deeply-held passion for SFF, she is constantly deconstructing fantastic narratives - in other words, she won’t shut up and she has many, many opinions.
